The Lord of Ghosts, perhaps the most important ghost in the history of NLACakaNM

Ghosts are citizens of NLACakaNM who've died and chosen to roam the streets as corpses rather than revive. There is, of course, a large overlap with the Staydeads, but some dedicated gangsters will occasionally play as ghosts; so while every Staydead is a ghost, not every ghost is a Staydead.
Ghost gameplay revolves around the acquisition of antislime, primarily via haunting. Currently, antislime can be used to create negapoudrins and as down payment for ghost contracts, with more uses coming soon™️, but its primary purpose remains to be a big funny number.

Gameplay

Many common aspects of daily life in NLACakaNM are unavailable to those who have lost their lives:

  • Ghosts are incorporeal, so gang warfare or any kind of violence is beyond their reach
  • Ghosts cannot mine or fish, and as such cannot gain slime in any way
  • As you cannot gain slime while dead, ghosts cannot participate in the slime economy
  • Slimecorp's firm necrophobic policies forbid ghosts from participating in the Stock Exchange
  • Slimeoids don't fuck with ghosts, so you can't interact with them while dead

Haunting

Haunting is the backbone of ghost gameplay. Ghosts can haunt living players who are flagged for PvP (or the player they're inhabiting, regardless of whether or not they're flagged) to take a portion of their slime as antislime.
A ghost may haunt once every ten minutes, and doing so will flag them for PvP for the duration of the cooldown.

When a player is haunted, the bot sends a message in the channel for the location they're in, notifying them of what's happened, without revealing the identity of the haunter.
Ghosts may append a message at the end of their haunt command, which will be relayed by the bot as part of the notification response. This is often used with links to images or videos, which will normally be embedded in the bot's response.

As of the Streets Update, one haunt takes away 1/400th of the living player's slime, and the antislime gained by the ghost has a cap of [Currently unknown but greater than 594,244] antislime. If the ghost and their target are in the same location, the effect of the haunt is doubled both for slime lost and antislime gained.

Because of haunting's remote but targeted nature, successfully using the command can be a bit tricky. To haunt someone who is not in the same location as you, you'll need to copy their mention from another channel or target them via their Discord ID. To copy their mention, switch to a channel where you can see your target, and write a mention to them as you normally would (e.g. @Munchy), then copy that from your input text box and paste it in a gameplay channel, like The Sewers. Note that this does not seem to work on mobile clients.
Alternatively, you may target them by user ID. To do this, enable developer mode in your Discord client (Google is your friend for this), and right-click/long press on your target's name or messages, which will bring up the option to copy their user ID. You can then haunt them using the numbers in your clipboard as you normally would use a mention (e.g. !haunt 126598334361108480).

Inhabitation

Ghosts who've manifested may use the !inhabit command on living players in the same location as them. This must happen when the living player is in a zone that marks them in a PvP status. Doing so prevents the ghost from moving normally, instead tethering them to the living player so that the ghost travels along with them wherever they go.
While in this state, the ghost may haunt the living player they're inhabiting regardless of whether or not they're flagged for PvP, and in return, the living player may bust the ghost regardless of their PvP status as well.
The inhabitation will remain in place until the ghost inhabits someone else or uses the !letgo command, or until either player dies or gets busted.

There are a few restrictions on the mechanic, to prevent abuse: Ghosts can't inhabit players in gang bases, including Juvie's Row; and they won't be transported to their inhabitee's apartment when they retire there, though they can !knock to request entry as normal.

Weapon Possession

When inhabiting a gangster, ghosts may use the !possessweapon command to propose an exchange to their inhabitee. If they !accept, the ghost loses 100,000 antislime upfront, granting the gangster a 20% damage buff until the next time they get a kill (PvE mobs count too!). After the kill, the gangster loses 20% of their total slime, which the ghost then gains as antislime up to a cap of 300,000. After the contract is fulfilled, both players return to a normal state of ghastly inhabitation.

Beyond the damage buffs and on-kill condition, this otherwise behaves identically to a normal inhabitation, with the exception that the gangster becomes unable to bust the ghost in their weapon until the possession ends.

Fishing Rod Possession

Ghosts can also possess fishing rods using the command !possessrod, in the same way they can possess weapons (including the cost of 10,000 negaslime). When fishing with a possessed rod, there is a higher chance of getting fish, but all of the slime the host would have gotten is turned into antislime and given to the ghost.

Negapoudrins

A negapoudrin

Ghosts may spend 1,000,000 antislime to create a negapoudrin using the !crystalizenegapoudrin command. Doing so places the item in their inventory.
Negapoudrins are used in Smelting, currently to craft the Eldritch Staff and some cosmetics, letting ghosts generate something of value to living players, allowing them to partake in the barter economy.

Ghostly Cloths

Ghosts may spend 100,000 antislime to create a ghostly cloth using the !sowcloth command. Doing so places the item in their inventory.
Ghostly cloths are used in Smelting, for the creation of various cosmetics.

Ghostbusting

Manifested ghosts that are flagged for PvP may be targeted by gangsters' !kill commands if they've eaten coleslaw recently, which enables them to bust ghosts.
Despite the intimidating nature of the subject, this is actually only the tiniest setback for ghosts, as all this does is send them back to The Sewers, with their items and antislime remaining unaffected. Leaving the sewers after being busted does require the ghost to haunt someone before they can manifest again, but this is rarely an issue.

Negaslimeoids

Basically the ghost version of slimeoids, they can be conjured on the suspiciously-placed Ouija® Board on one of the Waffle House tables

Making a negaslimeoid

1. To create a negaslimeoid, you will need one negapoudrin and at least one antislime, then you must head to the Waffle House (you can also type !instructions while in here)

2. Type the command !conjurenegaslimeoid [Amount of Slime], every extra digit of antislime adds a level to your negaslimeoid, (1 antislime=1 level, 10 antislime=2 levels) which gives you point to be distributed into three stats later

3. Now you must choose traits for your negaslimeoid, using the !grow[trait] [letter between a and g] command, with the letter deciding what type of say, brain, your creature grows. Refer to this table for the full list:

Part Body Head Legs Weapon Armor Special Ability Personality
A Teardrop Big Eye Legs Blades Edged Scales Toxic Ooze It's staring maliciously
B Elongated/Worm Pointy Teeth Smooth(Rolling) Large Teeth Bone Plates Radiation Beams It's admiring itself
C Spherical Black Hole Flagella Grip/Squeezing Quantum Field Spikes It's looking for a dark space
D Humanoid Animal Jets Heavy Limbs Shape Twisting Throwing Literally brainless
E Tendrils Orb Eyes Wide/Flat(Worm) Spikes Regeneration Telekinesis It's terrified of others
F Shapeless Skull Float Electricity Hideous Gas Acid It's watching your every move
G Quadruped Headless Wings Body Slam Oil Webs It's muttering ̷͂͘▐̷̀͝▄̸̈́̔█̷̛̅ ̶͗͗█̶̑̃ ̴͒́▮̸̛̛⯊̶̀͆ to itself
  • After that use the !raise [stat] command to allocate points into three stats of your negaslimeoid, your negaslimeoid's points are determined by it's level:

Moxie: Malice, Determination (Attack)

Grit: Resolve,Courage (Defense)

Chutzpah: Audacity, Pure Impudence (Special)

  • Next, name your negaslimeoid with !namenegaslimeoid [Desired Name]
  • Finally, use !spawnnegaslimeoid to release it from the Ouija® Board and into your cold loving arms!
