Staydeads

"Staydead" or "#staydead" refers to players who choose to remain as Corpses, as well as being the slogan for such players.

History

During the early days of Season 1, the !kill command killed players instantly and players were constantly vulnerable to attack (later the PVP flag system would be added to mitigate this). As a result many players were killed instantly upon !revive, leading to frustration and the decision of many to simply stay dead and avoid the hassle of being alive. This led many to adopt the mantra #staydead, taking their refusal to !revive as a point of pride.

Later, when the game became less volatile and features were implemented to combat the instant gibbing of newly revived players, some nevertheless decided to continue the #staydead lifestyle. These players came to be widely reviled by the living for their smug self-satisfaction and for being drains on the Slimeconomy.
